Workshop Overview & Join Info:
Join your IL Hemp Growers Association (IHGA) to learn more about growing hemp, how to navigate recent legislation, and how to apply to be a grower. We will walk you through the entire application process and you should leave fully equipped to finish your own application. Applications costs $100 with an additional $1100 required to be paid upon acceptance. License is good for three years. Attached is some more information on the application process. However, if you want an expert to walk you through the process and answer your questions and concerns, please attend this important workshop. Registration is required to attend and the fee will be paid directly to the IHGA on the day you attend the workshop. Cost for this event is $40 per farm applicant. Bring cash, check, or credit. Application fees are paid directly to the State of Illinois and that process will be covered during this workshop. This is expected to be a very detailed, hands on process ensuring that all who attend will be secure in knowing the exact steps to take to register, be approved, and begin growing their Hemp crop this Spring 2019.
The workshop is presented by Chris Berry of the Illinois Hemp Growers Association. The IHGA is your partner in learning how to grow hemp, where to sell you harvest, and everything in between. They have been advocating for hemp for years before legalization and are now the most experienced local resource available in our community.
There is no one else offering this kind of hands on help and assistance to small farmers and entrepreneurs. The event is co-hosted by your IL Small Business Development Center at Sauk Valley Community College. We encourage all Hemp Growers to sign up with your local IL-SBDC to receive no-cost consulting as you continue to navigate through the growing season and selling of your crop after harvest. The SBDC can help you prepare budgets and estimates of expected income to be derived from your Hemp operations.
This event is located in 2K2 on the second floor of Sauk Valley Community College. Please enter the Dillon Mall entrance and take stairs or elevator to the second floor. Room 2K2 is on the river side of the building. Call your IL-SBDC at Sauk Valley with any questions about logistics, content, or registration process. 815-835-6248
